Q.
Do you hire bikes?
A. No. We believe that cyclists like the security of riding their
own bike, especially if you are training and it is also very difficult
to set up a hire bike to mimic your own particular settings. However
we are looking at a couple of other alternatives...
Q.
Clarify how I book again?
A. Work out when you want to go, check flights, contact the hotel
of your choice through their own web pages and check availability,
remember to indicate you will want the 'Cycle Pack'. When you have
prices and availability confirmed, book your flights with the airline
or agent and the hotel with the hotel. You then need to consider
your transport from the airport. Very often hiring a car on arrival
is by far the cheapest option. £75 for up to 5 nights car
hire is often available. Should you want a taxi you can call the
number on the 'Airport' page, or e-mail us here for help. The same
applies for minibuses and coaches
Q.
What Insurance do I need?
A. What you would normally do if you were travelling abroad. Check
you bike is covered along with your luggage. There is a reciprocal
deal with Spain and the UK for basic medical cover. You need a current
E111 form.
Q.
What type of bike lock should I have?
A. What your happy with as it's your bike. I have been here some
7 years and use a light weight cable lock if stopping for coffee
that wouldn't last 30 seconds in London. Luckily theft is not such
an issue here, but it's best to be careful.
Q.
What type of cycling kit should I bring?
A. Mornings
can be chilly, but even with a northerly wind the temperatures in
the sun can be hotter than expected. Bring your UK kit and you won't
be cold. I recommend leg warmers and arm warmers, particularly useful
from March - April onwards when daytime temperatures can rise quickly.
